What?
I run my own homelab using Proxmox on a small Fujitsu ESPRIMO mini pc.
I use virtual machines running Docker to host my own services, websites, and a Minecraft server. This includes things like Nextcloud for file storage, Jellyfin for media streaming, Vaultwarden for passwords and more.
Why?
I care a lot about privacy, so I try to replace as many big-corp services as I can.
It's usefull for running projects like this portfolio site.
And I enjoy tinkering around with linux in virtual machines.
How?
I use Proxmox to manage my virtual machines. Most of my applications run in Docker containers, which makes them easier to manage and update.
To make my projects accessible from outside my home network, I rent a VPS from Hetzner in Germany and run Pangolin as a reverse proxy.
This lets me expose my websites and services to the internet without exposing my home IP address.
I manage my Docker containers using Arcane and host my own projects like this portfolio site, Tidawnloader and many other services like the ones mentioned before.
